Meet Scott Alexander
State Senator – District 26
Serving Delaware & Randolph Counties
Scott Alexander is a devoted husband, father, small-business owner, and community leader who believes in the promise of our Hoosier way of life.
Raised in eastern Indiana, Scott attended Delta High School and pursued higher education at Vincennes University and Ball State University. In 1985, he launched Alexander & Company Real Estate Appraisers, a locally owned firm that today continues serving families, farms, and businesses across the region.
In 2022, Scott was elected to represent District 26 in the Indiana State Senate, bringing a business mindset and community-first values to public service. In the Senate, he serves on the Agriculture, Judiciary, Natural Resources, and Pensions & Labor committees.
Scott believes that government should be responsive, that jobs should be grown here at home, and that our communities deserve safe roads, dependable schools, and a strong future. He has been active in securing millions of dollars in road-and-bridge grants for his district, funding for the Delaware Regional Mental Health Center, grants for housing and development, and in working to improve our local schools.
Scott and his wife, Valerie, live in Delaware County, and they are proud parents of two children. He knows firsthand the hopes and concerns of Hoosier families—from local business owners and farmers to parents and retirees—and he brings that perspective to his work every day.
As your State Senator, Scott is committed to:

Growing opportunities by supporting small businesses, agriculture, and job creation.

Protecting taxpayers by ensuring government is efficient and accountable.

Strengthening communities by investing in infrastructure, rural broadband, and strong schools.

Improving education by fully funding local schools, making sure our teachers are paid well, and that parents remain in control of their children’s education.
