About Scott

Scott with family on porch

Republican Scott Alexander, who currently serves as President of the Delaware County Council, is running for the Indiana State Senate in the newly drawn 26th district, which is composed of Delaware and Randolph counties.

A Delaware County native and graduate of Delta High School, Alexander studied at Vincennes University and Ball State University. He is the owner and operator of Alexander & Company Real Estate Appraisers Inc.

Frustrated by high property taxes that were stifling property owners and economic development, Scott decided to run for county office. During his tenure on the council, he has prioritized keeping taxes low to protect property owners and small businesses and encourage economic growth. The Delaware County budget has been balanced each year without tax increases.

Scott believes that leadership matters, and he plans to take his experience to the Statehouse and work to continue moving Indiana forward with sound fiscal policies that promote job creation and economic development.

He and his wife Valerie reside on the family farm in northern Delaware County with their two children.
